Season 2 Episode 17- Featuring Collin Moore
Georgia State University men’s basketball player Collin Moore joined me on the show this week. A native of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and a humble young man, Moore talked to me about his growing-up environment with five children in his family, including himself. Moore told me he began playing basketball in the second or third grade. An athlete at heart, Moore began realizing his game was unique in the eighth grade when he dunked for the first time. Moore was a standout basketball player at North Little Rock High school and was a state champion winner, eclipsing the 1000 point marker and earning a 3-star rating during his time as a Wildcat.
After finishing high school, Moore decided to attend Sunrise Christian Academy, which is one of the highest-ranked post-grad academies in the country. Coming down to his college decision, Coach Rob Lanier, came from Moore’s dream school, Tennessee, now head coach at Georgia State. Lanier immediately made an impact on Moore. Moore talked to me about his experience playing under legendary head coach Johnny Rice, and how Rice’s positive mindset helped Moore grow as a player.
A country boy, Moore told me he spends a lot of his free time fishing and duck hunting. A young man with a great mindset, he is currently going through rehab, recovering from an injury, and is still motivated to get back on the court. As always, Moore told me he wants people to know that “I have a bright smile, and I’m always laughing.” Best of luck to Moore, as he continues his journey. Enjoy the episode! God bless!
