The Daylan Show
Season 5 Episode 7- Featuring Brad Akin
Owner of Shadrachs Coffee Oxford, Brad Akin joined me on the show for episode number eight! Originally from Athens, Georgia Akin talked a lot about his love for the Georgia Bulldogs, and fond memories he’s had over his lifetime being a fan.
Shadrachs Coffee is truly one of the most remarkable businesses in the world. Centered around great service, and purity within young life, Akin talked much about why he joined the Shadrachs family, and what his journey has been so far.
Speaking fondly over his relationship with his parents and family, and the essential things that they have instilled in his life making him the man that he is today.
very passionate about Jesus, and his relationship to the man up above, Akin and I shared a lot of conversation about what it means to have a relationship with God, how he found it in college, and what his work throughout his lifetime has meant in terms of revolving his life around Jesus.
Becoming involved with young life ministry in 2005, Akin has traveled the world simply by helping people build connections with Jesus.
After moving to Germantown, Tennessee at a young age, Aking would attend The University of Tennessee at Martin, in hopes of becoming a major film director. Immediately after graduating, he would get a job in Florida shooting commercials for an advertising firm.
At one point in his life, Akin would work in Pharmaceutical in North Carolina, Making great money, but was very miserable in his life. One of the more life changing moments in his life, this challenge in his life led him to becoming a missionary and truly advancing his life around Jesus.
Akin was very honest about marriage, and they key to a successful marriage. Truly one of the most remarkable segments I’ve ever been able to listen to, for any young people in that process of life, please check out this segment.
This is the life advice and legacy he left me with, “You only grow through the hard times, the bible is only full of people going through hard times. We have to understand when we go through hard times, it’s not God punishing us. So my advice is, in those times, lean into him…”
As we continue throughout season five, there is no true theme here! Having Brad on, was very pleasing for me, his life experience and positivity is something that the world needs to have more of. I hope every person watching or listening to this, learns something, and can use it in your life. Please enjoy, and make sure you subscribe to the channel!
