The Daylan Show
Season 5 Episode 4- Featuring Tyler Buckner
Graduate assistant for the Ole Miss women’s basketball team, Tyler Bukcner, joined me on the show this week! A native of Memphis, Tennessee he moved around the city a lot growing up, graduating from Germantown high school. Figuring out the direction of his career, he began working as a manager for the girls basketball team in tenth grade. Knowing he wanted to work within the game of basketball, he continued to explore and connect within this role.
Speaking very highly of his family, and the outpour of love and advice they’ve instilled in his life, to help make him the man that he is today. Continuing to grow into his persona, he would attend Tennessee State University, and his ventures would continue at a higher level.
The process of choosing TSU was extraordinary, and he wasted no time getting to work when he arrived in Nashville. As the head student assistant for the men’s basketball team, Buckner grew, learned, and evolved within his role, which allowed him to see a true path for his career.
After graduating from TSU, he would work as a graduate assistant at Kennesaw State, working with player development, and video operations. Being blessed with an opportunity to now be at Ole Miss, and work under Coach Yo, Buckner has evaluated his work highly in Oxford, and has enjoyed the journey of his first year with Ole Miss.
With the end goal of hopefully becoming a head coach one day, Buckner has enjoyed working on specific areas within the game, and wouldn’t deny any opportunity to grow as a coach.
This is what he left me with, “Comparison is the thief of joy, be patient, and reach for the stars.
Please laugh, learn, and enjoy this episode!! Such as joy to share Tyler’s story, and I hope you enjoy getting to listen to it as much as I did!!
