Ole Miss kicker Caden Davis joined me on the show this week! A native of Coppell, Texas, Caden’s relationship with God is the biggest and most important thing in his life. Caden was an athlete from a very young age, playing many different sports, but soccer being his true first love which evolved to becoming a football kicker later in life. His family values shine through as he talks about his appreciation of the efforts his parents made to see him happy and successful, as well being the middle sibling of three and how he gained his competitive nature from his brothers. In his free time, Caden is a huge golfer and surfer, also a huge music lover–Christian music, country, and rap are in his playlist.

“You can’t expect to put the same amount of work in as an average person and get different results”.

Caden gained his first offer in high school from Texas A&M University, the alma mater of his father, it was a dream come true to gain that offer from the Aggies and commit to A&M.

Transitioning from high school to college, getting to College Station in 2019, but about a year later COVID-19 affected his entire lifestyle. Being under coach Jimbo Fisher at A&M was a loving but difficult process due to the football culture there. Many highs and lows were spent throughout Caden’s four year career at A&M, and he entered the transfer portal in 2023. Gaining offers from many schools, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Texas Tech came to be his final three. Choosing Lane Kiffin and company, he spent a great deal of time with the specialist and kicking coaches, which helped his decision. Coach Kiffin has been a very vital person in developing Caden’s skills and belief in himself.

Caden spoke to me about his training process and what he does when watching films, which was quite intriguing to hear. He said, “You can’t expect to put the same amount of work in as an average person and get different results.” A household name now here in Oxford, Mississippi, Caden’s goal is to get to the NFL after this season.

The name Caden Davis will always be important, and this is what Caden wants his legacy to be. “I want to be remembered as being a tremendous follower of Jesus, and also being someone who didn’t give up, I always got back up”.

This was an episode I had wanted to do for so long, and the enjoyment of doing it was indescribable. Such a bright, hardworking, and devoted person, please keep Caden in your prayers and continue to support him! I hope you can take this episode, and learn and laugh, I sure did. It was so much fun, looking forward to this upcoming season! Hotty Toddy! God bless you all, thank you for your continued support!
